SA: Separation of fan and A/C

Hi all,
My '79 is blessed with a mostly functional A/C system. Now, every other car I've owned has had a separate switch to activate the A/C; with it off, the fan would just blow cool air. On my SA, by having the fan on it automatically switches on the A/C, and sometimes I'd rather not have it running.

Has anybody hacked into the wiring and put an A/C switch in? I've got the manual but don't want to dig into the wiring chapter just yet...

Thanks for the help guys!

If it's like the 81-83 ones, there is a BUTTON right on the A/C fan ****. A little blue one. Push it in fo A/C use, Push it out for No compressor.

I'll look again, but I'm pretty sure there is no button. I'll try fiddling with things to see what I can get to happen...

Thanks!
