Cranking Stutter and Sudden Death
Cranking Stutter and Sudden Death
I got my new alternator in the mail on Friday. Today I installed it, went out and got some new gas ( 89 octane because I think I have some old gas on the bottom ) and when I made sure everything was okey dokey I tried cranking it.
When it cranked it would crank alright, but it would stutter. It would for less than half a second stop cranking and then resume automatically. IT wouldn't start.
I went through the unflooding procedure.
Then when I tried starting it up again, everything is fine and the fuel pump turns on when its in the ACC position, but when I turn the key to crank it everything dies.
Where could the possible shorts or other electrical problems lay with this?

Read alt as starter. Start your trouble shooting with battery cable connections and the ign wire to the starter.
