Coolant sensor wire....broken
Somtime during my 2nd electric fan install, the coolant level sensor wire was pulled off of the sensor on top of the rad. I tried for 20 minutes to solder it back on, to no avail. The solder would not stick to the top of the sensor where it once was attached. I used that soldering gunk, I think the solder gun acutally was melting part of the sensor, but still the solder would not stick. What do I do. There is a buzzer that keeps comming on while I drive which is annoying, plus a red light claiming I have low fluid, which I do not. HELP...

$14 from Mazdatrix = approx. $40+ by the time you get it in Canada and pay the exchange on currency--- Mazdatrix only ships UPS, who then hit you up for insanely steep brokerage fees and GST.
Best to order it from Mazda--- it'll be cheaper. If you can find one in the wrecking yards it may only be about $5, but since that only saves you about $15 (for a USED one) why bother?

I was able to fix mine by grinding the plastic out around the wire using a Dremel tool. It gave me enough wire to solder an extension to. After I got it soldered I sealed it up with some JB Weld. It's been working for over a year now. It still leaks around the base though just like before. Do they all do that? I've tried sealing the threads with Teflon tape, plumbers putty and silicon. They all seem to leak after a few weeks.

I know this is old- but I noticed a buzzer inside the car that went away occasionally. I'm assuming it's a loose connection. My wire to the sensor on top of the radiator was connected, when I twisted it to remove it though, the wire snapped off with about 1/4 inch of wire left on the sensor. I tried soldering a wire to it, then connecting another wire to the old wire. But it still makes the buzzing noise.
The "Add Coolant" light came on after quite a bit of driving. It'd come and go, I checked it finally and the coolant was fine, not all the way to the top of the radiator, but surely enough to not set off the sensor.
I tried grounding the wire that goes to the sensor. Still beeps. I think possibly the other end of that wire needs grounded...but where does it go exactly? Where is the buzzer...I'm ready to pound it with a hammer if it doesn't stop!

I don't mind lights...but that buzzer...I have a headache after driving 2 hours with it on.
My other thought is perhaps it's another buzzer. Door, seatbelt, something. You'd think the buzzer and light would come on at the same time if it were the sensor or the wire to the sensor. But it's just the buzzer that's on all the time, light has rarely come on.

i did the jb weld thing as well but for the leaking around the base was able to use off my parts car 82 g the rubber washer since mine was leaking as well and now i have no leak and no problem. ohh i just drilled a small hole on sensor clipped sensor wire and put a lil JB in hole and placed bare wire in hole then after 10 minutes put a glob of JB then let cure. 2 weeks and counting. isnt jerry rigging fun?

Do the MazdaTrix thing for $14.00 and don't forget to order the Little Gasket for it at the same time $2.50US.
I have tried to do the easy way out i.e. Solder,JB Weld, JunkYard and nothing worked as good as a New Set-up!!!.
Whats Worse. A Bee Buzzing in your Ear or $20.00.
Just My 3cents worth.
