Coolant guage sensor

just got my autometer water temp guage and the damn sensor doesn't match any threads despite having to adapters that came with it. this is really pissing me the hell off because i know these bastards are all english threads. do they not realize that over half the cars running around are foreign and metric? can you say import scene explosion? so it basically comes down to wrenching the adapter into the choke sensor hole or drill and tap the water pump housing. which looks to be a total pain in the *** to pull off let alone going out to buy a tap (more f'ing $$$$). i think jeremy's going to send a love letter to autometer.

Call or write Autometer and see if they'll send you the metric fittings.

Does anyone know where the coolant sensor cpu or relay is? My add coolant light stays on constantly, regardless if it's grounded. TIA.

I just got mine too. I haven't actually looked at the housing yet (it's too damn cold outside). My plan from the start though, was to drill and tap the choke sensor out and mount the sender there.

Either that or mount it under the neck on the top part of the housing (radiator side of thermostat) to hide it from veiw. Can anyone see any problems with putting it there?

See ya's

basically a pain in the *** man unless you already have it off the motor. mike i'll get your weeds tomorrow if it isn't raining. here is a pic of the guage installation. i'd show my wiring etc under the bonnet but its raining and as you can tell from the pic that the batteries died right after the shot.

That gauge is looking a little lonely.

yep, but i have no money. i'd like to get an oil temp and oil pressure guage to accompany it. probably would have to do a bit of cutting though.
