No, on the rear disk brakes. The SE had bigger disk brakes than the others at that time. As for the lug pattern, ...well, I may be wrong but the SE sits on 14" and the others are on 13". I am not sure if they are inerchangable or not. Someone else will have to speak up on that part.

By just looking at the suspension? The GSL-SE had vented rear discs while the GSL did not (solid disc). You could also measure the bolt pattern. GSL=4x110mm, GSL-SE=4x114.3mm (4x4.5).

No, anyone can swap the suspension on to an S, GS, or GSL. Check to see if it has the 13b engine in it too. It also was only made for model year 1984 and 1985 in the US.

If it has a stock 13B with fuel injection, then it is a GSL-SE.

That's the main thing that sets it apart from the '84-'85 GSL's.

Yes, others had disk brakes, but like I said the SE's were bigger. Vented? Mine aren't. You can swap the suspension, but you must also swap the calipers for the rear brakes. IIRC the SE's are 10" and the others are 9" but don't quote me on that, I just know that SE is bigger that is why when I swapped the rear from an 84 GSL I had to keep my axles.
