Unhappy color codes

Does anyone know/have the color codes to the Gen 1's?
I have a 85 Gsl Se that I thought was Sunrise Red. color code is 3a.
I know colors were regional in the U.S. but still!!!!

nice

Hey, that color is called "Royal Maroon" on the window sticker, it's the same color as my car. Where is this "3a" code located? On the car somewhere?

I have the original Dealer brochure and can find any other red other than Sunrise Red. I havent had the car out from under its cover since SS5. Ill have it out tomorrow and double check the code on the plate.
It looks like Sunrise Red is closer to a real red if your right 82transam

84-85 was offered in Sunrise Red (RH) or a metallic Persimmon Red (R7) as in the link I posted.

I checked my firewall and the code is 3A for my car as well. I did a little searching online and I found this little piece of information.
http://www.shults.com/hypermail/rx7-digest/0241.html

On that page there is a small section where someone replies......

>My Mazda Collision Manual lists the following colors >for '86-'88:
>
> J5 Arctic Silver
> K8 Tornado Silver Metallic
> NP Pure Red
> PZ Brilliant Black
> WU Dover White
> 1A Satin Gold Metallic
> 3A Royal Maroon
> 5A Sapphire Blue Meetallic

My build date is 6/85 and I'm thinking maybe they started using '86 colors towards the end of the 1st gen run in '85??? Just a guess, but the code on my car says 3A and my window sticker says "Royal Maroon"
