Clutch fan - help please.

Hello, my son got an 85 RX7 and we were told it needed a clutch fan. Unfortunately, he was scammed through FB marketplace when he attempted to buy one.
I found this forum, and saw several knowledgeable posts, and I’m hoping one of you can help me find the part.

This is my sons dream car (he’s a teenager), so I want to help him get it fixed. If anyone can provide me with some advice, I would truly appreciate it.
thanks, RS

Do you have a 12A or a 13B engine car?
If you have a 12A and you want to spend the coin on a brand new part, mazdatrix has them in stock : https://mazdatrix.com/product/fan-clutch-12a-84-85/
If you have a 13B, that part is NLA, so you're going to be shopping in the used market.

You could try the marketplace here on the forum and make a WTB post. Additionally there are some Facebook groups that you can search. Be aware that anyone that replies to your post "PM me" on facebook is a scammer. Also never send money through means that doesn't have a buyer protection built in.

Good luck!

12A will be carbureted (probably a blue air cleaner), 13B will be fuel injected (Intake manifold on top of engine that says REGI)

I have a few good used 12A clutch fans if you need one. Send me a forum message and we can discuss.

The next step is to tell him he needs to register here and start reading... Good luck to you both, and welcome aboard!

I also have a bunch of fan clutches, if he'll post a few pics of the one he needs we'll be sure he gets what he needs.

Free of course.

If you have one, you can also rebuild it! A bit of a pain, but they are getting scarce, don’t throw it out!

How can we ?
My fan is on it's way out, it spins freely but with lots of resistance. And it runs from the second the car is on which it isn't supposed to .

Cold it's suppose to have resistance. As it heats, the fluid becomes thinner and allows it to free wheel more. But it will still spin...like at higher speeds.
