which to chose from

I have been trying to figure out which car to buy. out of a 1rst genertaion of a 2nd. and then to tie this into the mix a 1986 VW SCirocco
is the first genereation better then the second? or what im lost someone please help me thanks

What do you want to do with the car? Do you want EFI or carb? Are you gonna replace the whole engine anyway, or are you gonna be stuck with what you buy?

There are pros/cons to both generations. Since you're asking in the 1st gen section, I think you'll find a lot of guys here prefer them, but we might be kinda biased. . .

I like the first-gen because it's lighter, and IMHO looks cooler. And I plan to stuff a 13B into mine eventually anyway. People also say it's funner to drive (I've never driven/ridden in an FC).

From what I've heard, the second-gen has more creature comforts, but then, I've never been one for creature comforts. Just depends on what you want in your car.

And which first-gen and which second-gen are you talking about? The carbed 12A vs. the NA second-gen? The GSL-SE vs. the NA second-gen? The GSL-SE vs. the Turbo II?

Also, in general, the first-gens are cheaper.
