Ray,

Clean set up as always but do yourself a favor and ditch the fusible links and put some 2nd gen fuses in there. :-)

Dave is right of course, those 25 year old fusible links are in the original stock location, nothing changed at all and I've never had one go bad. I just clean them up once in awhile and straighten the wires so they have nice parallel loops. The 2nd gen coil is an add on, along with the corks from my lab to plug the holes in the dizzy and stock coil that aren't used with the 2GDFI. (I can switch back to stock ignition in about 30 seconds).

The old fashioned fusible links are just a detail I've always liked about the 1st gen, kind of quaint and pretty, unlike those ugly plastic links from the 2nd gens.

Like Dave I had been working all day (mowing the grass, not chasing crooks like Dave) and I needed to do something more interesting.

That's a piece of 1/2" plywood underneath the stock battery tray to raise the slightly undersized battery a bit so the battery tie down works properly. Without the plywood the tie down doesn't fit right.

I'll check the shed to see if I have a piece of hardwood, it would make a nice upgrade.

Thanks for the compliments folks!

Hey TT, haven't heard from you forever. PM me an address, I'll send you a set of corks for your 2GDFI.
