umm not to sure what the 15yr rule is but it sounds like the car in there on a visa... we can import cars here like that on a race visa but when the visa runs out you have to get the car out of the country

I tend not to look at those sections! I get all upset, because they are way over there, and im here with no chance of getting them!

I think the 15 year rule is emmisions exemption. Don't quote me on that though I'm just taking an educated guess.

Importing second hand Japanese cars became a big issue so the Government, in response to the local car compnays, legislated to stop the newer cars coming into Australia, then changed it again 2 years ago, this is a state by state regulation.

The 15 year rule means cars that are 15 years or older can be imported to Australia without any restriction.
