Cheap mans "nitrous system"
Ok i was thinking about my car in trigonometry class and I remembered thinking my cars windshield fluid spray action doesnt work. I didnt really need it anyways im not sure if its the pump or fuse or something. My rear one does not work either. I was wondering what i could put in those containers like maybe 2 cycle oil for extra lube. Then I thought about starting fluid and how it makes the motor come alive. n yes Im going to buy another pump if this one is bad.
So i though i could set up lines from the windshield fluid container to the pump and pump the starting fluid into the carb. So i could just pull the wiper switch back and supposively go! I didnt know if the starting fluid would cause the car to go faster or what.
I was also told that the fluid burned very hot and could actually burn my motor and cause detonation? This was just going to be a little fun project it was not seriously intended to be "nitrous" cause thats completely different. If it didnt work atleast it I could call it a Cold start assist. *Puts on flame suit!
thanks again guys for answering my questions!

OK; don't know if this works on a rotary....
But on a piston engine you can add a water injector system & bump up the timming for a little more power.
Seems the same type of (automatic) system might give more power if using something like laquer thinner instead of water, but there's a *good* chance you'll blow up the car if you don't use a system designed for such a thing. Remember it's the *fumes* that ignite - not the liquid.
BTW Nitrous is not a fuel but a gas like oxygen. When you add a big NOX kit you have to add more gas to get it to work right (most efficiently).

Hey old man, have you lived here all your life?
"Nope - not yet."

ok...here's the short version....
stating fluid=ether...ether=big boom!
as already mentioned ether doesn't like plastic, which means it will eat through that reservoir bottle. It's also EXTREMELY volatile and the SLIGHTEST spark will make it explode.
The morale of this story... stop daydreaming and pay attention in class!
