changing accelerator pump??

changing accelerator pump??

ok, so im changing my AP diaphragm. i got 3 out on the 4 screws off but i cant seem to get the the forth one. i know that there is a retaining clip holding the fulcrum pin in the housing, but how do i take that off to get to the 4th screw???

if you have the carb off of the car it is easier to set the thing sideways to take out the pin because there is a tiny washer on each side of the "rockingbackandfourththingy" which will fall into the little crack at the end of the pin when you pull it through and it will get stuck that way
as for the "c" clip just push it off with the end of a flathead screwdriver or something ionno

dam i knew i should of took the carb off. o well im gona try geting it off agen

hehe iv takin that thing off soo many times its a pita when you get the washers caught or are trying to put it togeter

how do you know when the acc. pump is bad?my 82 likes to stumble/almost stall every time i blip the gas to take off from a stop, and it likes to stumble if your trying to maintain a constant speed. sry if a little off topic

if you get a set of those wrenches with the racheting end on it make the carb wicked easy to take off. Especially that one nut in the back. You can use a regular box end wrench but your going to loose your patience, or atleast I did.

Look down the car at the primaries, with the car off. Open the primary butterflies, If you see the thing in the middle squirting some gas in, then it should be ok, i think.
