I know some one here mentioned something about making one. They also have a CF dash, a neat water pump, pictures and everything, etc... I wish I could remember the members name.

Come on people help me out here.

I like the look of Carbon Fibre... Mmmm Carbon fibre.

I'd go for the hood but only after I had done the interior.

The resin will deteriorate in the sun... you'd better paint it

But then it looks tacky I dunno, I guess I just don't understand why someone would want to show off a modification to the general public. Better to have something grievously quick and nobody knows, kinda like the one scene from Terminator 2 where the T-800 is walking through the mall holding a box of roses - he blends right in, nothing unusual...

(yes, by the way, I'm watching that movie, otherwise i'd have a better analogy )

You what I think would look awesome? A carbon fibre hood that was completely painted except for the stripe.. You could have a carbon fibre racing stripe down your hood, and than the rest of the stripe would be black

It was me!! I have a mold being made right now, I called the guy last night and he said the mould would be ready today. He is building the first one for me and after that I will have pics. and sell them....fiberglass $200.00 range??? Carbon $300.00 range???

Oh, and in autocrossing the weight savings for that kind of money is well worth it!

There is a new resin out that does have UV protectors in it.

I am also building head light lids, and the valance that goes between the head lights. I should have done next week, the alum. block($25-30) that goes under the oil filter neck for preasure and temp. gauges and the alum. spacer blocks($55-60) that go between the strut housing and the control arm to correct the steering geometry after you lower the car.

by the way, there really is not much weight savings between carbon and fiberglass if it is layed-up correctly, this is why I am going to fiberglass on my race car...less money and only a couple of ounces dif.
