The turbo kit is probably for a stock port, i'm sure you will need a bigger carb if you were to street port.

BTW does CarTech have a website?

From what I've heard Cartech is no longer around, it was a venture of Corky Bell, the turbo guru of the 80's, I believe it was sold to a company in Torrance, California, but parts are no longer available from them. Bell does have a web site, as he is still in the business, try Bell Engineering Group. Parts for the compressor and turbine are still readily available from various turbo repair outlets, seeing how IHI has to date produced about 8 million various turbo units-

Thought I'd use my old post to ask a question, was wondering what are the pro's and con's of draw through turbo setup, and if anyone has messed with one, as far as setting/ dialing it in?

I never messed with it myself but on my '91 n/a i had it installed through a holley 600 and the mechanics that did it never got it working. Even though i have seen the same set up on some other cars at the drag strip and they were working, i would rather do it with a webber.

i've messed around with them but not on an rx-7. the main drawback is that gas needs to pass through the turbo and as a result the turbo life tends to suffer. the other issue is that they can't be intercooled since you would end up with a large volume of compressed air and gas in the intercooler. (boom) if you have a photo of your setup i'd really like to see it for novelty sake. i'd personally go blow-through unless you are a collector and into vintage cartech items...like me. let me know if your interested
