I think that a Carburated Renesis would work good with a carb, but it would require a very large carb,or multiple carbs.I would say a 45DCOE for midrange ,and then a 48 IDA that opens after 1/2 throttle.

Just my 2 Cents

that first gen is awsome. as soon as i heard about the renesis is wanted it in a first gen. i came accross a guy who worked for mazda and were based out of california and they put the renesis into 1st and 2nd generations. he told me it requires a lot of modifications to get the engine into a FB and that the total cost would be about $8000. does anyone know of any other websites where they offer information on renesis swaps that is actually in english

why do a Renesis engine....just go 13BTT, do a single turbo instead and a nice Holley 750 double pump. that set up will kick any renesis or same engine fuel injected set-up any day. Plus the problem with the new Renesis engine is that the seals won't last long thanks to the new exhaust location.

why would the exhaust port affect the seals any more than the intake port would?

If anything the apex seals will last longer, as they're not partially pushing into an open hole, then back onto metal again several thousand times per minute. The side seals are designed to pass over the exhaust ports in the same manner they've passed over the intake ports.

The nice thing about the Renesis is it makes almost as much hp as an N/A powerplant when compared to the twin-turbo 13B-REW... without any turbo lag, intercooler piping, exhaust restriction, etc. So if the Renesis starts with nearly the power of a turbo, but in N/A form, what happens when you supercharge it?

Exactly! I am waiting for Mazda to release a turbo or supercharged RX-8. Now that would be insane!

i forget what sight i saw it on but it said that mazda had a eletronic assisted turbo in the works for the rx-8 it used an electric motor to spool the turbo faster. So you get bost and no lag and withough the parasitic drain of a belt driven supercharger
