Car too quiet?

This new SE I've got has the stock manifold, bonez hi-flow cat, & power pulse muffler. I swear it's as quiet as my wife's new camry!
All the exhaust is new, so I hate to trash anything. Will just a new RB header make it sound more like the car it's supposed to be? I don't want it really loud, but I'd like it to sound like a rotary at least.
What do y'all think?

Your car is quiet. REJOICE!

Anyways, a header will definately change the sound of the exhaust, but with the cat, it won't get too loud.

MW,
I first had the stock mani and Bonez combo. The power difference was nice and it was "relatively" quiet too. As best I remember I'm running a Bonez muffler also (I got it at the same time as the cat pipe but can't remember correctly if it came from the same place or not).

Well... I'm now running the RB header with the setup (minus the Bonez hi-flo cat). I'm using an aftermarket Catco cat to keep legal. This setup is only marginally louder than the previous one I had. I had read about folks noting their exhaust as being too loud so I was somewhat concerned over the possible outcome of using the header, etc. It didn't turn out that way though. The system is very liveable.

did you notice any power difference when you went with the RB header?
Just trying to justify the cost, other than increasing the sound a bit.

Well I got a full RB header and exahust on my 12a, ported, and its also really nice and quiet. Even when I romp the gas it's mellow. Had a real nice rotary sound though!

MW,

Whereas I really noticed a diff with the Bonez (the original system was rotted off and clogged, etc), I really haveN'T noticed that much diff with the RB header. Obviously I have no dyno results to prove either way. Also, remember, I'm running a Catco. A lot of folks who use the RB system use a presilencer or whatever. Its' possible the Bonez cat is less restrictive than my Catco.
Who knows.

Finally, it is an SE (like yours) and I'm old and shift at 2500 RPM.

In defense of the header, it sure looks nice and chromy.

Is your Power Pulse muffler brand new? With the stock manifold and cat, it will be fairly quiet. Going to a full headered system will bring out the nice rotary tone

Wow. That's EXACTLY what I have....and it's really quiet? Mine is sort of loud compared to the stock exhaust. Is there any way you could post a recording of your car idling and revving?

What about the exhaust kit on rx7.com (the street legel one). Is that any good in terms of sound and performance?

That's what I've got. I think that it's purchase was money well spent, considering that I need a catalyst. You can also get a RB header and an aftermarket catalyst from Mazdatrix.

I have a bone stock 84 Rx-7 GS. Would that alone make much of a difference in sound and performance?

I don't have a lot of money to spend at the moment.
