A/C problems

i searched but didnt really find anything helpful, the A/C doesnt work on my GSL-SE, the clutch doesnt kick on at all, im not sure if the clutch itself is bad or what, i cant find a 1st gen rx at any junk yard here to pull a new compressor, will a 2nd gen work or what?

anything else i should check before i go buying parts? its allstock as far as i know, have only had it a few weeks, and its my first 7

im having a hard time understanding the electrical side of this engine, and the haynes manual doesnt seem to be much help , so forgive me for being a noob

I could fix it in about an hour. Just give me a socket set with ratchet, a few large wrenches and a standard screwdriver. Fixed - right in the trash can.

Have you checked the freon level? If it is too low the compressor clutch will not engage. You are going to run into the issue of freon type when you get it charged. Your car has R12 refrigerant and you just about can't find any anymore.

it has already been converted to r13, the freon level is ok, the relys dont even click when you turn the a/c on, though im not srue if they are suppose to or not lol

IanS, i live in central florida, its a black car with tinted windows, the thermometer i have in my car is at 160 through the day, because 160 is as high as it will go to hot for no a/c!, i dont want to feel like im driving my race car around on the streets all week, a few times on the weekend is enough

have you checked to seeif you have voltage at the clutch when you turn the a/c on? have you tried jumping the low pressure switch(it may be bad)? does the light on you a/c button come on when you push it? have you checked all of your fuses?
