Bridgeports kick ass!!!!!!!!!!

I had to put the REPU engine on hold while I dealt with my 20B and a mild ported 13B. Now I'm back to working on the half bridge engine.
I found out from Dave Atkins that it's not a good idea to put one of their superchargers on a bridgeport. This means half bridgeports are out too. I've got two REPUs and one will get a supercharger (it'll go on the mildport). The other will be NA with a half bridge. One will be used for towing and around town driving. The other will be used for highway cruising and various motorsports.
Since I don't have $2k for a supercharger, and probably won't for some time, I'll probably put the mild port in the towing vehicle, so it'll at least have some decent low end. The cruiser will get the half bridgey. I might have to swap exhaust systems...
I may swap engines some day, based on how well they do each job. I'm trying to balance chassis condition, handling, interior comfort etc with the engines' intended purposes. So far, the white truck seems to be the better cruiser. Besides, its bumper isn't heavy duty enough for heavy trailers (it's showing signs of fatigue already). The red REPU does much better with a heavy load in the bed (suspension actually feels better when it's weighed down), and the bumper is really thick and has taken a heavy load easily. Sure I could swap bumpers, but I think I'll leave them be.
Wow. Typing this all out actually makes my decision of whether to attempt a half bridge more clear. I honestly want to do a half bridgeported engine, but I'm not sure if the REPU is a very good chassis for this. Then again, Pineapple has done a PP REPU and I guess it hauls pretty well. Heh, what have I got to lose?
