Bridgeports kick ***!!!!!!!!!!

Hey,

finally after about 6 months of going from one problem to the next with rebuilding and porting my engine i got it to run the way it is supposed to. I floored it in 1st gear and from about 4500k it reved up mad fast all the way to 7500k like in no time, i shifted into 2nd and almost went off the road, that's how bad it was fishing. And that is with the timing on dead center and i can still play with the jets and rev up way higher. I defenetly need some et street tires on it. The car defenetly makes more power than what i was aiming for concidering i did it all myself. I'm so happy about it i had to share this experience with everyone. Who would even think about putting a v8 in 1st gens?

What's the powerband like now? What do you have to rev it up to before you can move? I read it bogs down under like 4. Is this a track car or what? Sounds awesome. Congrats Have fun with it, be careful!

The engine starts making power just over 4k but it still spools up pretty quick before that, unless you floor it too soon. It's a street/drag car. It's got Holley 600 and a brand new 1 day old 2.5inch exhaust with a resonator and a magnaflow muffler that sounds very deep and like it is about to tear something apart when just lightely accelerating. Apparently my RB muffler wasn't high flow enough to make any power. I only went 7500k cause i wasn't sure my pre-mix was working properly and the stupid buzzer keeps on coming on and messing me up.
I would defenetly would have to post my time slips after i get some tires.

magnaflow rocks. i had a 2.5" straight thru one on my 12a sp and it is a great balance of performance and noise.

how much are you premixing? not much to make premix 'work'. just pour the 2 stroke oil into the tank, then fill it up. that way it'll mix good.

If you'll spin the motor over 8500 on a regular basis, i'd premix one ounce per gallon. that's how we track guys/racers do it over here.

later and enjoy the bridge!

oh, you'll probablly make max hp with *total* advance set to 24-26 degrees. set it to 22 degrees to be conservative.

Thanks for the pre-mixing info DriveFast7, i was actually wondering if i could do that, but i have the oil metering pump now hooked up to the carby where the powervalve is and i have it on all the way, hopefully that should mix good.

just be sure to check that both OMP lines are pumping oil. run the motor and take the OMP lines off the carb. at wide open OMP, they should flow a good amount of oil. Each.

With OMP hooked up to throttle linkage @2000rpms for 6 minutes they should put out 2cc's combined.

With OMP wide open, 2000rpms, 6cc in 6 minutes.

Hey has anyone heard of a secondary bridge port based on a 13b 6 port. If so what sort of power do they make

I'm just running a standard bridge on all four sides. I've talked to a guy that had both a two bridge and a four bridge, he said that he felt 50 to a 100 hp difference. I'm still able to get my engine to idle at 1600k even with a full bridge.

I would actually like to do that to my car... but i'm actually afraid to do it. I would probably mess something up, or screw something up taking it out of the car. Sucks to be in Mississippi with a rotary, there aren't any specialty shops around here

Bridge port really rocks.
Especially if your standing at a intersection, and the guy next to you cant figure out whats going on.

I hope mine will be finished by next weekend

Yeah, 120 wheel horsepower is fast as hell

It is much more likely you are fishtailing in 2nd due to extremely hard tires. I can get the back end on my SE to kick out on dry pavement too.

Talking

I'm gonna have my motor bridgeported once I get back to the states. 15's should be no problem because I know a guy that runs 14's on a street ported motor with a moddified stock carb/intake manifold.

Yeah, let us know!

Moddified stock carb and manifold, huh? I've got something like that I'm thinking of using.

I got the template you sent me..

I feel bad cause I didnt get the exhast sent to you,What exhast porting did you do?I just been really ****** busy,I still have the template drawn out on poster board for you but I was tring to wait to get some sheet ,metal.

I noticed on the template you sent, the bottom bridge was not the same lenght of the main port..is this right?
You got pics of the porting you did?I guess you also cut out the housings..

SoRRoW, that sounds right. I've seen pics of BPs where the bridge is shorter than the main port.

I've got my side plates and rotor housings apart and ready for cleaning and porting. My loins yearn for the hearty lope.
