Boost gauge question

Boost gauge question

Ok here is the question...................
when i'm driving I hear the BOV woosh! When the boost gauge is @ 0 And i even hear it before the 0 when reading a little vac(a little weak)but i still hear it!?WTF? is'nt supposed to Read 0 when i step on the gas? or i've been playing to much Gran turismo LOL.......I thought it was My gauge But .I just put a new autometer one in and Same thing!!! The vac Line is connected to the nipple where the S4 Boost sensor goes
What U guys think?

i think its not hooked up right. as soon as you put your foot on the gas....your boost gauge should increase

That's what i think But .....That's where the stock Boost sensor goes! TURBO GUYS? where did You guys connect it to?

Hmmmm It is hooked up after The T/B
Here are some pics......The new boost gauge....AUto Meter
and the gauge is hooked up to the bottom left nipple on the UIM in the pic
also theStock FPR and the one in the pic are hooked up to that same nipple

Are you just checking it while reving the engine? If so, the engine doesn't make any boost while just reving. There isn't enough time to make boost while reving, and too little throttle is being used if you just hold it.

I'm just guessing thats what your doing since it looks like your boost gauge is mounted in the engine bay. No way in hell your going to see that when your acutally driving.

i think u should be asking these types of questions on a diff. section of the forum. not many 1st genners have prior experience w/ turbos.

Oh, ok that makes a little more sense. Are you sure you don't have the line pinched or kinked anywhere? Does the gauge read vacuum when at idle?

yep it reads vac/about 15....... I replaced the line w/ the new autometer hard vac line........
I'm getting pissed! i guess i'll just connect it to the wastegate line....That would give me an accurate boost reading 4 sure but no Vaccum=(

Try a different nipple. Many nipples on TII's and such are just to
daisy chain hoses to each other, and will not give you accurate readings.
