Just wanted to know...

I have a 1985 RX-7 GS and mainly everything in the car is stock. I started driving the car when I learned stick, but it's been in the family for 20 years. My cousin's husband told me that he used to own a car with a rotary engine and said that the engines are pretty easy to maintain. He also said that I could redline my car as often
as I'd like and the engine won't break down no matter how old the engine is. I have about 240,000 miles on my car and I just wanted to know if it was true.

Well you can if it is properly maintianed. change the oil and fill up the oil when you fill up for gas. Also watch the oil temp when running that hard.

Eh, come on. Going too easy will cause carbon buildup, which is worse than spinning up the motor!

Having a 194Kmile motor, I have no problem taking it to 6Krpm. Between 6K and 7K though, I notice a lot more vibration, so I limit the times I go to redline. No point going past redline with a stock motor, so no need to comment on that.
