Bolt broken off in block

I broke an acv blocker plate bolt off in my block a few months ago.... never really worried about it (the idle is just a little messed up now) i cannot get vice grips over the broken off section of bolt and there's no way i cold get a drill in there... does anyone know if JB weld would work? before i waste my money on it. Any help is appreciated.

probablly will work. i use JB weld to plug holes in radiator.

i just bought Craftsman screw extractor kit for $19.99. Works GREAT. Pulls screws right out. Tip of the extractor digs into the + on the phillips head.

I was wanting to use JB weld to temporarily stick a head on the broken bolt... i didn't specify what i was wanting to do.

JB weld can't take much torque.

Might just be best off with a new gasket for the ACV plate and use pleanty of high temp copper RTV silicone sealant in there.

The ACV bolts the the intake, not the engine.
I recommend pulling the intake and fix it properly. While it's off, treat your car to a nice coolent flush, block the coolent passages to the intake, and clean up the intake runners with a dremmel and some JB weld.
JB welding the bolt head on isn't going to do anything beause there will be no tension in the bolt to clamp the plate in place.

Yeah... IM whatever it was stuck on the bolt is stuck and i really don't feel like going through the hastle of taking off the intake to get to it is there anything else i can do?

edit: thanks for the tip though, i'll take it into consideration once i have the time to mess with it, i've got to remove my intake sleeves sometime anyway insted of leaving them wired open.

Take the plate off. You may be able to then get a small punch in there and with a hammer tap the bolt around the edges in the direction of removal. This can work.

D'oh! I have to stop assuming that everyone has a 12a.

I forgot about the IM being aluminum, i could easily weld a head onto this bolt and take it out without having to worry about it welding the bolt to the IM... but anyway try that jeff, weld a bolt head onto the broken off stud and take it out that way, but access to a welder isn't easy... hopefully a friend of your's has one or know someone that does.
