Bad OMP?

What are the signs of a BAD omp...I think mines letting oil leak down into the engine or injecting way too much on start up.

My dad claims the white smoke is oil, I personally think its fuel (it smells sour and nasty...not sweet).

I think the white smoke is coolant or water and not oil. Fuel is black smoke and oil is blue smoke. You might need new o rings in your intake and a intake gasket.

My dad said;

Fuel = Blue
Oil/Coolant = White

Personally, it smells like FUEL to me, but you never know. I guess it's time to re-do the intake side, I wish I would have had some money because I could have done is this week when I was sick.

Where does one get the gaskets and what not from? Is there any hp/tq improving modifications I can do while it's off (no welding please). I think I'm going to clean the 5th & 6th ports up and install the polished sleeves from Pineapple Racing.

Oil is blue smoke not white. If it is stumbling and running rough on start up then clears up after revving then it is fuel. If not it is oil.
there is nothing to seal on a 13b on the intake for fuel or coolant or oil that would be getting into the engine. Unless you just want to pull the intake to modify the 5t/6th ports then that is all you will be accomplishing.

Yes,

After I rev it a few times to about 3-4k rpms it stops stumbling and then I can drive it fine without smoke until I turn it off and go to start it up again, then its a random thing.

I tried to do the fuel hose thing and it still smoked.

didnt we go thru this same thing and have you check to see if the fuel pump was coming on when the key was just turned to the on posistion. And you stated that it was and i informed you that this was abnormal And the AFM was defective? Are you not listening to me

Tech, turn the key to the on posistion, do not start. Go back to where the pump is located.
Just in front of the left rear wheel along the frame rail. If you hear it running then the AFM is bad.

Well,

Is it supposed to be a buzzing noise or what? I hear it clunking in the back when I turn the key to on.

noise

Should be a constant whirring noise coming from the pump, Hell easier yet. take the pressure
hose off at the rail, put a can there to catch fuel. Then turn the key just to the on posistion and see if it starts pumping fuel.

Well,

I tried the hose test again (by the intake manifold) and no smoke came out so I think it's leaky injectors because I tried the the remove the hose down on the rail too and no fuel came out when I turned the car to on.

is it white smoke or light gray vapor? light gray vapor = fuel. these things will run really rich until the engine warms up and it's able to burn most of the fuel (note i don't say all lol).

if it's blue, your oil control seals could be getting old. that means you've been using your engine well my '83 smoked on startup from the moment i bought to when i sold it 40,000mi later.

Smoke

Ok, you have 2 choices. Find a can of BG's 44k and run it thru the system with a 1/4 tank of fouel or remove the injectors and have them cleaned.

It's white, and it'll hang in the air for about 5 seconds before it disappears.
