Backwards Failing Clutch Fan, wut?

So it appears my clutch in my fan is going out. It seems to be always engaged. When driving, at any speed or RPM all I can hear is the clutch fan sucking in gobs of air, no matter the temp of the engine or air outside. The only times I've heard it not come on was the few mornings it was sub-freezing outside. Due to this apparently failing thermoclutch, my belts are suffering. I can not rev the engine above 3500 RPMs without the belts slipping like CRAZY. I should mention this is an emissions deleted 12A motor, S5 alternator with the dual pulley. And it still slips, Every time, Without fail. I also tried to water on the belts trick to verify its the belts and as soon as the water hit them, the engine was quiet again.

Does it sound like a stuck thermo clutch would cause this kind of slippage? And is there any way to fix this problem? Is there something I can grease or oil up to help?

That's how the fan is supposed to fail. Fix it by getting a new fan clutch.

yeah i honestly wouldnt dare do that lol. From tuning my dellorto, having my head near that engine bay with the engine revving up, pretty sure there is enough air movement to make it air cooled lol

Is that the test of if your clutch is good?

I'd stick with stock clutch fan. It's plenty good. I have a clutch fan if you need.

Well I'm doing a 13B swap here shortly with a LOT of engine bay clean up, So i'm probably going e-fan with a wire tuck. Its also going to have the gilmer pulleys, and I'm not sure if those like stock fans.

Yup, I had it on there for a few revs. Thats how I found out i had shaft wobble. The belt was walking off the main pulley.

If you're going to an e-fan, there is zero need for a gilmer. The gilmer grips really well so is ideal for a clutch fan. Know what I mean? If going e-fan, the only real load on the belt is the alt, which has a good near 50% belt contact. No slip there unless the belt is loose. No need for a noisy gilmer. You know it costs power to make noise right?
