I now have a little over 200 miles on the engine right now. I was breaking her in with a stripped mechanical secondary Nikki with 200 secondary jets that I had Boost prepped for the turbo FB. Last vid of the half-bridge with the Nikki...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vuGS1xrikBg I still haven't turned her over 5 grand yet. It's freakin killing me. I pulled the Nikki and FB intake off today and dropped the RB intake and Holley back on there. That thing came alive with that 600 Holley. I still need to do a little more tuning on the Holley, but she has a nice Brap-Brap 1500 rpm idle. Can't wait to get a few hundred more miles on it so I can start letting her wind up!

Put the Holley back on and done some more tuning. Redone the exhaust. I think I need to go bigger. Running 2" right now, need to go 2 1\2". For a half-bridge, most think it's a full bridge. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfDZizCpFBk

The Fram filters work fine, it's that orange color that ruins the engine bay. I just put my thumb over it and the engine looks terrific.
Was that stripped Nikki the one I rebuilt that you picked up at the December 8 OGTA meeting? Your video sounds pretty good, maybe it just needed a street port under it.
Here's some photos of when it was installed in my white 84 GSL:

Here's a video of its best idle when I had it going (notice that cool looking black Mazda oil filter):

And some pictures from that meeting to jog your memory:

And of course here are the engines before Stu dropped one on his thumb. Did any of those parts make it into your rebuild? If so you may have reunited your carb with at least parts of its former motor.

I know Ray. I have to get back down there to see you guys again. The Half-Bridge is getting better every day I drive it. Starts up much better now, and I have a pretty good tune on the Holley. I just have a slight hesitation at 1/4 throttle. Since I got the SA engine pretty much done, I have turned some love toward the Turbo FB. Check out my other thread.

Well its been a couple months since the half bridge was put together, unfortunatly a couple weeks ago it started to get coolant in the fron thousing. So as much as I hated to, I took the engine out and tore it down.
I made a promise to myself that if something happened to that engine, it would be fully bridged next time.
He he he.
Well the time as come, Stu and I put the engine back together today. After a short tug with Big Blue, she let out a good backfire and busted off. After some "giddy" driving, I am real happy with the preformance with the bridge. FULL Bridge
.
Well I hate to leave you guys hanging right now, but video's will be uploaded tonight.

Thanks for the pics Stu. Fully bridged and notched housings
I should have done this to begin with. Live and learn I guess. I picked up a few tricks from Bryan at RotorSports. The SuperGlue trick, and the Crisco trick is the bomb! The "brap" is so much stronger now, and with running the corner seal plugs the thing starts up so much better now.
On to the vids!

When the bridge goes high enough that when you lay the housing on it, it covers part of the bridge. You then notch the housings at an angle so there will be flow from the whole bridge instead of part of it being covered. You can see the notches in the pictures, look where the port would be.

Your engine had the best rotors and seals in it!
