Anyone know where this goes?

Reinstalling carb, generator, pump etc on an engine we rebuilt. Found this in the plastic bag of parts that fell off when we pulled the carb. Cant see it in any of the photos and videos we took. Anyone know what it is and where it goes? Pics would be as first engine rebuild and naming of parts is a struggle! Thanks.

Close, but no cigar. That spring is still in its place. Any others like it somewhere else on the carb or intake?

Main shaft is my guess as well. Could also be the one on the teeter-totter too.

Sorry to be a newbie, but any pics showing where the main shaft is and where the spring may live? And the teeter-totter.... that the area with the spring that sits in the black rubber sleeve right where the throttle cable attaches? If so, that may be likely as I did have to wrestle hard to get the throttle cable head out of its housing and maybe I dislodged the spring as I yanked things back and forth. Any pics of where you think the mystery spring should be installed would be much appreciated. Cut/paste from a web search with a nice red circle added would be huge!
And a major clue that could help us work out where the spring came from. I left the carb entirely in one piece. No disassembly at all, except removing it from the intake manifold. The mystery spring must be able to be unclipped from somewhere around the carb area without anything being taken apart. Car is bone stock with no mods on the engine.
