I am thinking about getting this setup.
I have a 82 gs. I have a custom long primary exhaust and I will be streetporting the engine soon. Any one with this setup post some thoughts or pix.

Mazdatrix offers no such setup, and I've never heard of one.

Mazdatrix offers a single 45DCOE setup.

TWM offers a dual 40DCOE setup.

I'd spring the extra $200 for the TWM if possible, if only because it looks so cool Apparently it has decent response and will make more power than even a 48IDA.

Peejay, you wouldn't happen to have a link to TWM's website would ya?

Thanks,
James

Ha, thats to their catalog pages (PDFs).

They make high quality stuff for other cars. Grassroots speaks highly of them.

I looked at that twm thing. That seams like it would suck huge amounts of gas and have low end drivability problems. Plus. it doesnt curl over the engine. Wouldn't the carb get really hot right next to the exhaust.

Apparently it has excellent driveablility. With twice as many carbs, they can use very small venturis, for great low-speed response, without restricting top-end power.

how much does the kit cost. is it like a $1000. thats seams really expesive. Does it come with carbs. It seams more difficult to setup vs the Mazdatrix single 45 dcoe carbs.

Yes it's roughly $925-950. Comes with everything.

I've driven cars with 45DCOE before, and it felt just like stock... stock driveability yet also stock power. I don't see the benefit.

Was it on a otherwise stock. cuz if that were the case, a carb upgrade wouldn't do anything

It also had a RB header and muffler. Theoretically the combo should be good for about 140hp.

Then again, it's all in the... (anybody? anybody?) TUNING.

so it wasnt tuned right. I have read elsewhere in this forum that this setup works wonders with a streetport.

Assuming you don't mind rebuilding a used carb, personally I'd rather buy a used Weber IDA, Dellorto DHLA, etc... half the price of the new kits and more power potential. If you look around enough and are patient for a few weeks you'll find something.
