Antenna nut options

My antenna mount nut (part that threads onto the top of antenna visible from outside.) Appears to have loosened itself amd fallen off. I need to replace it. The rest of the assembly is in good shape and i want to avoid $260 for an entire replacement. Any of y'all know if another gens nut will work with the 1985 rx7 antenna assembly? Ive found at least an FD nut and older miata. Any other options?

Excellent option. So I'd have to buy the entire assembly but only $50. Not bad.

If you are replacing the whole unit then this is worth a read to get the electrical aspects working correctly

Thanks and I'll read up. That said, I'm preferably looking to just purchase the one piece instead of the entire unti. My antenna works fine. Just need the missing chrome mounting nut. If i cant find the one nut then it looks like ill buy that $50 entire unit off Amazon.

I should have all the hardware pieces for the stock FB antenna mountings, including that nut, which I believe is the top piece.

I'll check my antenna box and get back to you, in the mean time please pm me your address and I'll get it in the mail ASAP.

But thumbs up on that metra unit, I installed one in my LE a couple years ago and it works perfectly,

And it's available in black chrome, which is really cool.

I like the stock look but that black chrome actually looks more stock than the original chrome.

Sometimes I just sit out in the driveway and turn the radio on and off just to watch the antenna go up and down.

PS, Jim Rothe's antenna replacement tutorial in the link above is excellent!

I like to watch my antenna extend/retract in my rearview mirror Ray. Replaced my old one over fifteen years ago with a black antenna with a silicone sleeve and it has a very smooth operation and bugs and crap don't stick to it.

Pardon the dust!

The black antenna looks good on my RX7

If you want stock like operations, look for a semi-automatic antenna. I found one named Harada on eBay about two years back for $50.
