Another Dumb Wheel Question 1st Gen
I need some expert advice on wheels.
Now I know there's a lot of advice on this forum, but I'm too lazy to look it up.
So I'll make this quick.
I recently became aware of a killer offer from Goodwin Racing in San Diego, CA
$99.00 for Konig Rewinds with 4 x 110 bolt pattern, 15 x 7.
Now I'm seriously considering buying a set, but I really want to see a wide look on the rear wheels with a deeper dish look.
Question: Can a 1st Gen RX-7 handle a 15 x 8 wheel on the back?
Just wondering.
Thanks in advance.

Maybe I'll just buy these 15 x 7s and have a custom made wheel spacer for the rear wheels.
I just hope these Rewinds have a deep dish Panasport look.
I don't like the front wheel drive Panasport variation look.

Does this company offer custom offset and backspacing? This will help get you the look that you desire. Usually, if the bolt pattern matches up to what the car can accept, then you will have absolutely no problem in fitment issues. 15"s are a good size. I've seen them amaze me on the various 7's I see at the shop. 16"s aren't that bad, and some 17"s trick you into thinking they're 16"s, just by design.
Also, with a wheel spacer, I'm not sure if you'd have to worry about the wheel studs being long enough to poke out of the rim to accept lugnuts. Since I've never messed with wheels before and backspacing and the like, I cannot give you a straightforward answer. Hopefully, some others who have will step in.

What I don't like is the 20 mm offset.
I prefer something close to 0 and only up to 5.
Otherwise these will look like front-wheel-drive wheels on a rear wheel drive car.
That's horrid in my opinion.

Those 15x7 with a +20 offset will fit the fender wells perfect keeping the tire even with the fenders.

Well, I already have some wider wheels on my 1979 RX-7.
https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generation-specific-1979-1985-18/my-79-rx-7-a-441215/
They are ET wheels (aftermarkets that were on the car when I bought it in 1988).
They are 13 x 5.5, I believe.
They stick out only slightly from the fenders without the Tijuana look.
The car has a wide-stance appears from the front and rear, which I really like.
You can see that my existing wheels have pretty much a zero offset (I don't know the exact offset) and look more deep dish.
What worries me is the 20 mm (or 7.87 " offset) of these Rewinds on sale.
I definitely don't want the front wheel drive wheel look (positive offset).
