Alternators
The '89-'91 TII alternators are grouped separately by ampere output which is 80 amps peak. It is also a relatively easy mod...here's the rest of the story....

Where's DF and his graphics when you need him?? It's been brought up before and I believe the answer was "yes", but I'm too sleepy to confirm that belief right now....yawn....anybody know the definitive answer? ie., who has done it themselves...none of this "I have a friend" stuff...

FD's use a serpentine belt system so making that work on a FB would be tough, the 80 amp 89-91 alt is more than enough power.

While I was at it, I had a smaller diameter dual pulley drilled and prepped for the same alternator, because it is not underdriven like the Racing Beat one.
Yea, that would do it. But then isn't there any issue with the fuseable links? The main one is rated at 80 amps, wouldn't putting a alternator bigger than that blow it constantly? Even if you swap to a FC fuseblock the main fuse is still 80 amps. Just a thought

The Cosmo amp is rated at 90 amps, so considering the additional draw and upgraded (new) wiring, I should be fine.
Yea, sounds like your fine. I got a fc fuseblock a few weeks ago, but haven't taken the time to put it in yet. the fact that i'm kinda confused on how it is wired doens't help. oh well, thats a thread for another day.
