air pump removal

do you get any benefit from just cutting the power to the air pump or do you have to remove it completely to recieve any benefits in performance. if you do have to remove it completely what is involved in that process?

if your state have smog test, dont remove it. because youre gonna fail automaticly. but if dont take it off, it helps a little on the performance but the bad part of it that you car is gonna have a real bad unburn gas odor most of the time but like most of all if you can live with then the is ok

I agree with eddie. I removed mine and it stinks more. Also its one less thing your motor has to turn.

you'll pick up maybe 1 scant horsepower from simply disconnected it(removing the belt)

if you completely removed the air pump, you would also be saving weight and uncluttering the engine bay. one less thing to break...one less thing to get in the way.

i can't even remember the air pump on my car, so if you need a different sized belt...you'll have to measure it.

all this coming from someone with one accessory(the alternator..lol)

i removed mine today youll needa rubber plug of the air filter about 3/4 -1/2inch measure first then youll need a cap i just used temporarily a 3/4 in PVC cap on the ACV one all in all took about an hour only cuz i had to drive around finding caps and plugs . very simple

When u put a cone filter on, just get a little breather filter for the air pump, and put it on the air pump inlet. I did that back when I had fuel injection and it worked great.
