85 SE in Junkyard

Hopefully someone in California (Newark) can save this thing. Looked pretty good in the photo, body was really straight. It just arrived in a pick n pull lot. Row52 has a photo.

Hopefully they would sell the whole car instead of parting it out. Who in their right mind would junk an SE in that condition?

Its Kalifornia, so it could be the owner didn't think it was worth getting it to pass emissions.

This is most likely the case. If I have a chance I will try and swing by to take a look at the car tomorrow. To bad your all so far away there are some really clean rx7s that get junked because no one loves them anymore

That't the sad part is that here in Ohio we fight with rusty 7's and out West perfectly good 7's go to waste.

I grew up in CA and the emissions laws make it hard to own some classics. If its not old enough (1975 or older now?) you still have you get SMOG testing done. Couple that with old emissions systems that can be hard to maintain and buybacks for cars that won't pass and you get situations like this. I bought my SA in CA a couple years ago and brought it home to AZ where I have no emissions testing in my county. There are great cars to be had there if you have the opportunity to pick one out.

There are actually two GSLSE'S on the lot but I think your buddy did a pretty good job on the Red 85. It was in much better condition then the Blue car. Looks like he or some one stripped the whole interior, fender, hood, injectors, igniter coils and third member.

The Blue 83 was missing third member, injectors, igniter coils and some other random parts.

The suspension on both cars are still there except the third member/pumpkins.
