The 84 GSL-SE Project

I thought I'd show you all some of the pictures of this little project that I've been restoring. A lot of folks on this forum have helped me tons with my transmission pilot bearing issue and a bunch of other things like my rim restoration so I present my official $350 RX7 (minus cost of clutch kit, and all new intake / fuel injection seals) so everyone can see what it is I'm trying to restore and where all the advice is going to Finding this car really gave me inspiration to fully restore it... I mean what a deal! Not only that... it runs GREAT with the new seals. We think the motor has been replaced as there is lots of evidence all around the transmission and engine as if it had been taken out and replaced sometime before.

Thanks guys The funniest damn part is, we hooked up the air conditioning compressor and it turns out it is still charged and blows cold. We almost **** ourselves. The only issue is the BAC valve is having issues and likes to kill itself if you drop off from too high RPM to idle so we're removing that today to see what we can do to fix it.

We haven't actually done it yet, we're going to be using some aircraft stripper to get the dead clearcoat off, then polish it down with some polishing cream from the hardware store then maybe some Mothers polish?

I like it I took apart the BAC valve and the darn Air Supply Valve is dead... it doesn't move at all when power is applied. Oh well... not sure where I'm gonna find one of those... junkyard hopping time.
