you can add AC to it the only thing is how much are youwilling to spend on it ...
I spent like 1400 just to get mine working again all of the parts were replaced firewall forward and that was just to make it all work like it should...

If you pay someone to do it it will be expensive.
It seems the majority of the people on here remove their ac components, and can be had for less than $100., but you will need more than just the basic components(it's more than just a unit). The solenoid, dash controls, and wireing are some, not sure of the ducting on the non-ac cars. A donor car would really help you. But, someone may supply you with what you need.
I could see it being done for $200-$400.
You really need to study up before attempting it yourself.

This is a thread I have going (on hiatus for winter, however):

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...ighlight=A%2FC

For your situation, I think the most useful info from that thread will be the price of a new compressor designed for R-134a, and Stevan's description of his custom hoses. The A/C manual pages he posted are a good read, too.

you have one of the greatest sports car ever produced.

WHY the **** would any of you want to add weight to it with something as worthless as air conditioning????

Just leave all that **** off.

if you have a 7 with A/C remove it and throw it in the woods.

At least we 7 drivers don't have to worry about killer rabbits ( VW or otherwise)

You can have it added because ALL 1st gen (And probably all 1980's Mazda's... IE: My truck.) had dealer or aftermerket installed A/C systems.

to continue,

I bet I have 4 or 5 complete 1st gen systems out in my woods behind the shrubberies.

but seriously though, if you are willing to put A/C in your car, just buy a cheap daily driver with A/C... something like a probe/MX-6

hey Pele, its me,
Chuck
