theres is a moonroof for the 79-81 rx7 *rare* being sold on ebay heres is the link for it

there is no moonroof that fits 79-81. it is either 79, or 80-85

****, i'd better get that to add to my rare collection, it will go nicely sitting next to my 15B rotor housing and fiberglass windshield (theres only two left in the world you know)

That's nothing. My carbon-fibre windshield is 10 lbs lighter and came with a Vortex intake enhancer (adds 45 whp)

the moonroof on my 79 soo rare i cant even see it.

but on a serius note...
why would it only fit certain models??
aren't the roofs on rx7 all the same from 79 - 85?? or am i wrong there?

the 79 -80 sunroofs have different mounting brackets than the 81-85 cars , if you werent sure.... i have glass roofs for both as they are pleantiful in ca.

The '79 models use the different lifting mechanism, the '80s are the same as the later ones.

gee thaxs for the flaming... i got this moonroof off of a 81 rx7.. and it doesn't fit my 85 or my friends 82.. so i'm asuming it will fit an 79 - 81

If it's a FACTORY STOCK '81 sunroof it should fit any '80-85 car with a FACTORY STOCK sunroof. Perhaps the '81 parts car has an aftermarket one installed?

The sunroof in my '80 was identical to the one in my '85. '79 use a different mechanism and therefore are not interchangeable.

Lots of times people simply have no idea what they have. Like the auction for front and rear crossdrilled discs that fit "80-85 RX-7". There's so much wrong with that statement that I wouldn't know where to begin...
