WTB Moonroof for early 1979 Rx7

Hi All,
I just bought a beautiful 1979 red Rx7 GS which is identical to a 1980 I owned when it was a new car.
Unfortunately when the car was shipped to the East coast on an open transporter, the sunroof was lost and as a result the headliner was shredded.
Yeah, I'm pissed.

I've found a replacement 1979 sunroof on EBay which will need some restoration. So I've got that working.

My old car had an aftermarket glass top. Does anyone have a moonroof for sale that fits the 1979 hardware???????

Once I get the car cleaned up and sort this sunroof thing out, I'll post a nice thread on why I bought this car and what it looks like.

TIA

PS KB Transportation in NJ was the trucking company. So far they are not returning my phone calls.

There is a 79 Glass top on ebay right NOW FWIW…
They are a bit harder to come by as you prob know since the panel for 79 was a 1-yr only design.
Yes we would all love to take look at pics!!plse post when you can...

Thanks Stu. Yep, I'm bummed.
Thanks for the heads up on EBay.
The rest of the car is in fantastic shape and it's just a matter of time and $ before I make it right again. Another bump in the road.

Yes, you can still find Moon roofs for SA's from time to time. Going rate is normally 100 / $200. A lot of people don't know the exact differences btw the flip up and rotary **** latches, so you need to make sure its correct. Stu keeps a close watch on the pulse of the rare parts availability. They could probablly do a new "Alaska Rotary Gold" reality show from his buried stash!

I 2nd the request for pics. A lot of like minded enthususts here to offer help and advice.

Just make sure when you are wanting to buy a part, you post the ad in the 1st gen parts classifieds section. I'm not moving this yet due to this thread having more elements than just a want to buy thread.

Stu thank you again! I did find and buy that moonroof on EBay. I was searching for 1979 and it was listed under 1978. Stupid me!

Thanks. I had my car delivered to a shop I work with in CT. I'm going to trailer the car home this coming weekend! I will post pics and tell my story of why this car is so special to me!!!

Congrats Cooch! Glass roof = THE way to roll. When I bought my SA from So Cal, PRE-bought a glass roof, packed it with me from Alaska, and dropped it onto the Car for the trip back to Alaska. Was NOT going to miss ANY scenery on that trip!! Transforms the driving experience IMHO.
Looking forward to some pix
Enjoy.
cheers

Thanks guys. I'm picking up the car this Saturday. My moonroof arrives today. Will still need to get the headliner replaced/repaired and then I'll be good to go! Once things are all fixed up, I'll post some pics!!!!
