5K bog on 12A
In every gear except first, half the time or so, after 4-5 K it will bog and not accelerate anymore. It runs well other than that so it's kinda mysterious. Also it's odd that it'll only do it intermittently. Any thoughts? This is one I'm totally stumped on.

I am running a stock Nikki. I just replaced the fuel filter in January, it's not that. Not sure if it's a fuel pump, but it is very intermittent and only at 5k or so. If I had my video camera I would take a vid of it, my friend Alison's using it so I dunno. Can't be shutter valve, I haven't replaced that yet seems like some fuel issue...
Any other thoughts?

Looks like I'm not the only one with the problem, though with an entirely different car.

Could be fuel supply, could be exhaust plugging, could be at number of reasons. Just because you replaced the fuel filter filter 6 months ago doesn't mean it's still good. I've had filters plug within minutes due to large amounts crud in the fuel tank. Pull the filter, cut it open to see what's inside.
Then get a hold of Alison and tell her it's a matter of rotary life and death and take some vids of your bogging problem.

Ha Ha yeah I will tell her it's a matter of life and death
I'm looking to get a fuel pump anyway but I will post a vid of it prolly tomorrow or Wednesday. I've had issues with fuel supply accelerating at times since I got it registered in April from Non-op so I'll prolly just do the filter too. But for some reason I think it's exhaust related. Doesn't putz like my '79 did when I took it to higher RPM and I did the fuel pump and filter on that, to fix it when it was fuel related. I dunno I'll take the video and see what you guys think....Thanks

First bet in a situation like this will always be the fuel filter, even if you replaced it last month rather than six months ago. Its a three dollar item that is known to go bad frequently, so that is the obvious place to start.
Fuel filter (you might want to consider this, it has worked great for me): https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generation-specific-1979-1985-18/dual-fuel-filter-mod-528445/
If you need to upgrade the fuel pump: https://www.rx7club.com//showthread.php?t=529605
Could also be clogged jets in the carb. Do some research over at www.sterlingmetalworks.com

Symptoms of a clogged fuel filter:
1st gear to redline at wide open throttle: No problem
2nd gear to redline at wide open throttle: No problem
3rd gear, still at wide open throttle, car starts to lose power...
The next time that you experience the problem, try this. Put the clutch in and just coast for about a minute with no gas pedal (giving the fuel system a chance to "catch up"). Then give her the gas and see if she feels any better. If so, then replace the fuel filter.
