1985 Wiper Replacement

Can't seem to figure out how to make this work.

Google (because it knows everything) says these 17 in. RainX wipers are suppose to fit my car.

Maybe they fit the swing arch but they don't fit the wiper arm.😩

These are wrong, right?

I'm not seeing the pin from the factory wiper.

Zombie apocalypse. It's very kludge, but those wipers aren't going anywhere

I have an '84.

Went through the same thing with it...until I found the right aftermarket wipers.

Too much tree between then and now to remember which wipers I bought..

Google said these would work.

As my son would say "Google is butt".

These wipers won't work; you're right, no pin.

There is a pack that has the pin and adapters.

yep all u need is the pin. do u not have the old wipers? maybe can remove the pin from them. just a plain old machine screw and lock nuts will work. get some really cheap blades from walmart and get the pins out of them then take them back cause they don't fit.

After further review I did exactly that.

Problem solved.

Just bought some the other day for my 84. BOSCH 18" wipers fit perfectly if you have the pin.

99% of the wipers at Wallyworld/Autozone will fit like OE if you have the pin. If you don't have the pins you can get them on epay for cheap.
17" is the factory length but I use 18" (like said above) and they fit/work very well.

Can you provide a useful search term? I've been unable to track these down anywhere...
Thanks!

Kizmit,

I cant find them now either. I bought a bag of 8 or 10 off epay in 2018 when I got the car, because mine were rusty looking. I think they were Trico brand but I cant find them for sale anywhere now (been looking online for 20 minutes).

I think Id just go to wallyworld and buy the cheapest set that includes them (many brands still do... look for Trico). Walk out to your car, take the pins, and immediately go back in and return the wipers. Someone suggested this above. It sounds like a crappy thing to do but 99% of people buying wiper blades have modern j-hook arms and will just throw the pins away.
