I got wiper blade replacement assemblies that fit on the SA arms. This was the whole assembly including the blades.

I gave up trying to source just the replacement blades. The assemblies I bought look very close to stock OEM to me. Got em at AdvancedAuto.

On my 79 I ordered cheap conventional wiper blades from rockauto, then carefully removed just the rubber part from the new blades and slid them into my SA wiper arms. Works great.

Did the pin come with the blades or did you have to reuse the pins you had?

82transam on the forum here modified his arms to accept the newer style of wiper blades so that he didn't have to use the stupid pins anymore, not sure if he has pics of it on here somewhere or not.

I modified my ones also. Pics are about 2/3 down the page. Works so nicely now with my flashy modern blades haha

Herb,
Noticed you posting in a couple for sale ads where they are parting out FB's, the wiper cap that covers the nut where the arm attaches to the post, the SA wiper cap is different than an FB.
They appear the same, but the SA is taller. The FB caps won't work with SA wiper arms.......

Herb I have been able to buy the blade assy (i.e. the rubber and the frame it is mounted to) from most any auto store in Alaska. They all came with assorted mount options that include the pin-type that slips right on the Arm. I am presuming you had no such luck locally?

Banzai- n-i-c-e catch on the SA v FB wiper caps!!!

A quick search under auto wrecking on eBay, took me to one place that has a 79. Not sure if they have the whole car or just transmission advertised for sale, but if you contact them with the vehicle ID number (8997327) they may be able to tell you if the wiper caps are available. Looks like it has a front plate mount too.

Thanks for the tip. It was a great idea. Unfortunately, they already crushed the car.

Sorry Herb.
Here is junkyard car I purchased some parts from back this past June. I don't see a front license plate holder but do see the wiper caps. Wittmayer Scrap Iron in N. Dakota, I dealt with a nice lady named Angela (701-833-4727). Again, I have no idea if these remnants are still around.
