1983 Mazda rx7
So I have a 1983 Mazda rx7 gsl coupe. I’ve been having problems with getting it started so I changed the igniter and I had it running for 1 day then the next day it didn’t want to start and everything that lead up to my problems was the alternator belt slipping so if anyone knows what it could be thst would help me out a lot

A slipping alternator belt will not cause a no start condition unfortunately. Is the engine cranking over as it should? Bleeding the battery is good, the starter is working properly and all ground connections are clean and tight.
If so...
How long has the car been sitting? You may be seeing issues from a gummed up fuel system?
Have you confirmed that you have good spark and fuel delivery?

Ok, if the engine goes is cranking over well, the starter is just fine. If you confirmed fuel delivery to the carb and adequate spark, the next thing I would look for are vacuum leaks. They can cause hard starts or no starts if they are large enough.
The next thing to consider is a carburetor rebuild. There's a chance it has sediment in the float bowls causing the primary jets to become restricted. This will cause rough running and crank no start conditions.

Getting a holley will only make you more frustrated. Did you check the fuel filter and tank to make sure fuel flows per the specs in the FSM? Is your carb working correctly? How long have you had the car?
I don't we know enough yet to really help you.

I have noticed hard starts when I had it running. I’m getting a Holley carb soon so hopefully that’s the problem but I’m definitely gonna check for a vacuum leak. also sometimes when I start it black fluid leaks from my exhaust covering my garage floor I have no idea what’s causing that but if you do that would help a lot. Thank you

thank you for helping me out I’m gonna rebuild my carb, I finally had the time to take off the carb and get a full look at it, it looks like someone jb welded one of the jets, and yes the fuel filter is good everything with the fuel system is good
