12aT updates

I havn't been on the forum for a while now, some of the older members probably remember me though. I had some rust problems with the rear wheel wells of my car, about 235rwhp and rusty suspension mounts, the mounts got ripped right out. So I parked it for a while. I'm planning on getting it running again, and having it run good

I'll be getting some before pictures this weekend when I start stripping it down to put in the mini-tubs and 4 link in the rear end, then I need a wideband so I can finish tuning it.

Here's some old pictures of it- http://www.cardomain.com/ride/396921 I'll be putting up new pictures this weekend.

It'll be back in action and running perfect by spring. I'm not going to put any tires on it that'll grip too much though, or else the tranny will break.

Zac, know anywhere I can get a cheap wideband?

I'll talk to you about what I'll be doing once this setup is running good

The 4 link is still in the planning stage right now. This weekend the rear half of the car is getting stripped so I can begin cutting out all the rust. Then it's time for some new sheet metal and suspension mounts

Since I don't have pics yet, here's what's all done to it.

Stock 12a 60k miles, perfect compression
TII turbo, 14psi, ported wastegate
2.5" stainless straight pipe
2 TII intercoolers
BIG K&N air filter
msd 6a box
6 puck ceramic clutch
Tocico Illimina 5 way adjustable struts
1" drop springs
1.25" front sway bar
13x7 wheels with 205 wide r compound tires
GSL Limited slip rearend
Stripped back half and engine bay
A bunch of other stuff that needed to be upgraded to run all those things that I don't feel like typing out......

Will be getting mini tubs, new 4 link rear suspension, and a wideband o2 sensor. After a few runs at the track and this setup tuned in perfect. I think I might be parting out most of my drivetrain. I have a little bit bigger power plans for this car, and it needs a different engine to keep costs down. A stock 12a just isn't reliable enough with 400rwhp, it's only reliable up to around 300, and to get the 12a strong enough is too much time and $.

Another Ohio guy, and a Turbo FB guy to boot.

Check this out for your wideband needs:
https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generation-specific-1979-1985-18/good-wideband-12a-turbo-504168/

Personally I'd go with a PLX-300, as most of the posters have said.

Also, if you already have not, check out Ohiorotaries.com, there are a lot of guys over there that a a great help, and organize a good amount of activites.

I've been ohio rotaries since it first started, probably one of the first 10 members, but I havn't been around for a while. Being a poor college student sucks. But I got a lot better job, so I can start working on the car again
