thats a pretty bland question, there are alot of variable.... rebuilt motor for performance.. carb/efi...

it pretty much comes down to tuning when boosing a high compression motor

As much as I hate to agree with Gregs, he's right. There are too many variables to just shoot off a number and leave it at that.

You guys make it sound like rocket science. I know one of you dont have a turbo on your car yet.

I'm running 10lbs of boost, engine has 116,000 miles. Hasnt been rebuilt yet. As for limit, I'm not willing to push past 10lbs on my setup. Next engine im going for 14lbs, but that'll be a street port with fresh rebuild.

Thanks alot for the response seanrot. Is that on stock rotors? Ill probably run a fairy large street port with a fresh rebuild and 10lbs sounds good to me.

erh depends on the setup, as long as you have very good oil flow and cooling on a nicely built motor you can run 20psi for 2-3 years... it's all in how you build it, when they said it was too broad it means it's too broad, list the specifics of the setup your talking about, if you were planning on using a stock carb in a blowthrough setup i wouldn't put more than 5psi on it, but if you've got a custom built setup (or really know what your doing, in which case you wouldn't have posted this...) then you could run 8 or 10 daily... it's all in how it's built, do some reading, use the search... have a good day

I was thinking about using a either a modded nikki or a modded RB holley carb cause i have both or possibly buying a 48 IDA weber. I was hoping for maybe high 200s in horsepower with either a large streetport or a 1/2 bridge port. Ive done lots of searching now im just asking about the specifics.

it depends on your motor, turbo, the fuel you put into it and the supporting componets. You could run 20psi on a engine/car setup like a race car.

Ill agree with robert for the typical setup with maybe some race gas.
10-12 on 91 octane....all we got here in cali at the pump.

Hey thanks for the good response on my thread. I was wondering how much you would charge to prep my stock nikki on my 80 12a for turbo. If you were up to it that is. Your deffinately the first person i would ask for help on a turbo project. What do you think it would take to get a blo thru turbo nikki setup to 300 horsepower, just asking cause I want to do it right.

if you can afford a 300hp 12a
spend your money wise and build an EFI 13b that will last twice as long.
