Arrow 12a turbo EFI

I got tired of my carburetor. I just posted about my 12a turbo drawthrough, if you all havent seen it do a search. I fried my starter because of its hard starting (carb is too big, runs a little rich- good for turbos-bad for plugs, fuel pools in turbo). I gave up trying to fix the problem after i had a rotary mechanic of 30 years tell me the problem was the setup. I am buying a haltech e6x, a 1000cfm 4bbl throttle body w/injectors from tweekit in australia, and will enjoy the easy starting and smoothness of fuel injection. Plus, i should gain a little horsepower from the effieciency. I may get 230-250 RWHP, up from 220 RWHP. Ill keep yall posted!

Not the least expensive way to go, but you'll like it.

I was going to do the same thing, except on a blow through. I would imagine that the $475 is just for the throttle body, not the injectors too right? If it is just the throttle body, then it is comparable with the Weber style throttle bodies.

I looked up what it took to do a blow through Weber set up and came up with about $1900 without installation and tuning. Is that about the same for the Holley set up you are doing?

Heres the price breakdown:

$475 throttle body
$485 brand new injectors, 2X1600cc/min and 2X500cc/min
$1100 Haltech, brand new, with all sensors and harness
$120 Walbro 255 fuel pump
$200 rising rate fuel press regulator
$50 fuel press guage
$60 Plugs and wires
$30 Crank angle sensor
$50 intercooler piping
$205 Blow off valve
$0 T2 intercooler
$0 T2 coils
$0 Throttle body to FB intake adaptor plate, i already own

$2775 Total, some of that is overpriced and will account for shipping

By the way, the Weber intake/throttle bodies is about $650, not including injectors or hat for the throttle bodies.

Oh yeah, I am converting to blow through as well, I am assuming i will have similar starting problems with fuel injection because the fuel will still want to pool in the turbo. If i had injectors after the turbo, then i wouldnt have that problem but i wouldnt benefit from the fuel being compressed by the turbo to help cool the intake charge.

oh yeah, all the prices on www.tweakit.com are in Australian Dollars (AUD). To convert to USD, just multiply by .75

I wanna know how to buy that throttle body. I was going to get the IDA style one but I might like the other better.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but a I thought it was a "Draw through" that had problems with with fuel collecting in the turbo. A "Blow through" should never have fuel collecting in the turbo....right???

i think you'll be very happy with this setup as long as you have someone competent to tune it.

on a side note: where did you find this?

He was saying that an EFI draw through setup would have the same problems starting and fuel pooling in the turbo as a carb draw through. Your right, blow through will never have problems with fuel collecting in the turbo, because fuel never goes anywhere near the turbo.

fuel pump was found doing searches on the internet... cant remember the place.

WWW.TWEAKIT.NET is where the throttle body is.

PS I will be tuning it, I watched my buddy do his and it aint that hard. I think its easier than tuning a carb...

Oh yeah, and i stripped my interior today. I stripped all carpeting, head liner, dash board (upper and lower), door panels, sound deadening, etc., and weighed it. I LOST 150 LBS!!!!!
I think my car is at about 2150 right now!! I am going to get it weighed when i get her running again.

Thanks for laying it out, sounds about right. It is amazing how much room there is in the car once you remove the metal for the bins.

Please keep us updated, I will do the same on my Holley 600, 120 shot, T76 12A that I plan to put together

We shall see. There is a competent fabricator in the are that know about rotaries, I am asking him to fab some of the stuff needed.

The Silver (Turbo) car ran good, I can only hope that the 12A Bridge which will supposedly flow more air runs better. It seems that this is turning into a quarter mile car, but with 16" Panasports and a tight suspension I hope it wll be an all around car.

Only time will tell, I have high aspirations and reserved hopes, only time will tell.
