? 12a ID ?

I have taken one of my engines apart the other day and noticed that in my hanes manual it says their are 18 bolts that hold the engine together. I have 17 bolts that hold mine together. Does anyone know what years have how many bolts? I am assumeing the older engines have 18 and the newer have 17? Does anyone know the range of years that differ? I would assume 79-82 has 18 and 83-85 have 17, somebody please either correct my mistake or back me up on my assumptions.

1985 12A engines have 17 bolts. I guess Series 1 12As have 18 bolts and Series 2 and 3 12As have 17. 13B's have 18.
