12a in gsl-se
I can't imagine you would have any problems doing it as the car was available with a 12a for both 84 and 85. You will probably need all 12a stuff however, like the driveshaft, and you would go back to running a low pressure fuel pump if you are running a carb.
You do not need to change any of the tranny or driveline parts.
Just remember to test fit before you make anything final. The main issue here is where the oil pan ends up. You do have some wiggle room but once the steering arm starts to touch the oil pan, it will start to wear through with use.

now the question is why would you want to install a 12A in a GSL-SE? SE blocks are out there and if you plan on going through all the trouble, why not install the correct engine? remember, the fuel pumps are different, as is the fuel pump relay. there will be a lot of wiring not used and you may have to install a 12A harness and ecu so that you will have the correct emissions setup. the 12A oil pressure and coolant temp sender wiring is located in a seperate harness whereas the SE's is integrated into the main harness. food for though..
