12a dies.. Somebody help?

So my car ran fine yesterday, and then the first drive today it died once. I didn't think anything of it because it wasn't fully warmed up (I only drove it like a mile to drop my girlfriend off at her moms). Then today when I went to pick her back up and run some errands it started dying at every stop light/sign after about 5 minutes of driving after warm up. I checked for vacuum leaks and didn't find any, and I checked my fuel lines and I do have a very small fuel leak from a spectre fpr that came with the car, but that's been like that for a few months. Anybody have any suggestions? My initial thought after finding no leaks was the carb, but I really don't know enough about carburators to say for sure.

It's a 12a with rb header and exhaust, no other mods other than a k&n filter. Newer plugs and fuel filter, when driving it doesn't seem to really bog, and fuel efficiency and power hasn't seemed to change, but there is a small backfire.

Does it start right back up or does it take some coaxing , ? can you smell gas when it quits ?When a carb starts to give problems more often than not they have a flooding problem .. Next time it gives you a problem check the coils and see if they are hot . Does it backfire through the carb or exhaust ??

It starts right up to a degree, takes a couple seconds but I'm pretty sure that's because the battery is on its last thread. I don't know about the gas because I'm sick so I can't smell anything, old lady said she couldnt smell gas but....well ya know lol. The coils are pretty new so I doubt it's that, and it's a feint popping from the exhaust.

Just because they are new doesn't mean they can't give trouble .. Maybe check and make sure you have nice clean grounds on the coils . If the grounds are poor the coils can't collapse proper and could also make them run hot . Also maybe take the plugs out and check to make sure you have a good strong spark or just hook some other ones into the plug wires ground them to the engine and see what kind of spark you have should be a nice blue arc not a shitty yellow one .

I'll check those out. Hopefully my carb just needs a good cleaning.

Could be your ignition, specifically the ignitors. When they start to fail they only do this after
getting hot. Let it sit and it starts back and goes some more. Rinse, wash, repeat. Over time it
gets more frequent and happens sooner (at cooler temps).
