When youre in a purpose built race car like that its not anywhere near as scary as you might think. its way solid and downforce is apparent.

140 mph in an sa with a bridge secondary 13b It took a while but the pumped nova got real small in the rear view pretty quick...it felt like the car was going to lift off the road like an airplane. that was a long time ago and looking back i was real lucky that nothing bad happened.

125 in a 1986 Toyota MR2, honestly didnt realize how fast I was going at the time. Was taking a huge sweeping corner on the interstate and nailed the gas. Car was remarkably planted, and felt like it was doing 80 lol. It had some left in it too, but I backed out because I cant afford a ticket right now.

120 in my old N/A FC

topped out my 83 speedo (I think tops at 135/140) in my FB while "racing" a Ferrari F430 owned by an old friend of mine. Needless to say I was spanked rather badly... (rather is a BIG understatement) But to be fair, I didnt lose sight of him. And I swear, I didnt have binoculars.....

120/130 in a Porsche 944, my father was a terrible influence lol.

almost 180mph in a civic?? I cant think of that being possible without some serious aerodynamic mods to even keep that thing on the ground at that speed! Let alone a trans for a civic that is geared to go that fast! Do you have any specs on that car? Im just interested since ive been a honda guy forever..

Fastest for me is about 80mph in my rx7, about 135mph in my 95 turbo civic and about the same in my old *** 86 accord b20turbo when i still had that. Scaryiest thing ever in that accord. I cant picture wanting to go any faster then that in a honda lol.. Infact in my old 93 turbo civic i was going about 125mph and was passing my buddy that was just crusing on his cbr 600 at about 100mph and this was on a street i didnt know and it had a sharp 45mph speed limit turn i didnt see and spun out i was so lucky to be able to keep control of it and only ran over the inside curb when i got down to about 40mph.

Im a few years older now and cant picture doing any of those high speed runs anymore. I dont know why i was so brave back then lol.. Im only 21 now and now im a bitch about speed lol..

about 100 (guess due to the 85 mph speedo) in the 1st gen

160 (indicated) in an 03 Accord V6 coupe. Too bad its FWD. Its got good pickup and looks sharp imo. would be great as RWD or AWD

140 in my cobalt. it was still pulling decent. it might hit 150+.
125 on my 1985 kawasaki ninja 600-r it was scary.
109 in my saturn. it was limited.
100 in my old first gen.
85+ in mt 4.3 s10. speedo was maxed out.

On my 82 Rx-7 i did Like 132mph and still had plenty to go more but there was way too much Drive train Vibration

LOL,the other day my Honda friend had this program to calculate top speed based on trans gears, tires, and top RPM. and base on my friends setup he would reach around the 186MPH+ area and according to my future setup i would reach the 213MPH+ area. LOL,,i would nice to hit that speed but i might be asking for it in chicago streets.

120mph. S5 GXL, bone stock, 5th and 6th ports stuck closed. It actually had some room to go
90mph. 05 Kia Spectra with just a K&N SRI. Haven't really had the room to take it further
The FB at 7000rpms in 5th gear is at about 135mph.

Well from your post i suppose your boosted civic had a baby *** turbo on it and wasn't built (obviously). If your a honda guy and are on honda forums and all about hondas and new your **** about hondas then you should know its possible. HP and all that has nothing to do with how the car handles at high speeds. A built hatch will get to 120 in a split second. Ill let you in on a little info about it: caged, crazy suspension setup, traction bars ect ect, built c1 makes 440 on pump, race gas well i can't tell you that theres certain people on here that just don't need to know .

Before there was software, there was paper and pencil, and calculators:

9000rpm
divided by
3.43 final ratio
=2623.91 tire RPM,
multiplied by
(26.5" X pi = 83.25") tire circumference
= 218,440.23 inches per minute road speed
Divided by
(5280 feet X 12 inches =63,360 inches per mile)
equals 3.4476 miles per minute
multiplied by
60 minutes, gives us

206.856 miles per hour

Provided of course that your tach is even close to accurate, that far up the scale. Most analog gauges lose accuracy near the movement extremes, as the spring force is not linear.

Tachometer Inaccuracy

I realize the tach in that car probably wasn't the OEM RX-7 piece . . . but the FB tach is very optimistic. When it says you're turning 8,000 RPM, you're only turning about 7,300 in reality. I found this out when I was dynoing the car. My tuner told me to take it 8K RPM, but he said I was letting off early. We finally cross checked the tach on his equipment against the signal in my ECU and the OEM tachometer. His equipment agreed with the ECU; the FB tach was off.

I recently corrected the tach so it reads accurately at full scale (8,000 RPM) by adjusting the potentiometer on the PC board inside the instrument cluster.

All I know is my needle was a fair distance passed the 130(lasting marking) mark in my Black '83 So im guessing 135~140ish - FOR 5 MINUTES SOLID On one of those roads you can see the curvature of the Earth on, in Nevada

155 in my C4 `vette, 100%stock with one of my best firends and the roof off - I seriously needed aviator goggles

My ex?girlfriends GS will climb right up to 115 (as it did a few hours ago) but doesn't want to go much faster - Perhaps I should be recommending some nitrous or streetporting.. hell why not BOTH!

I got my civic up to 110. But I'm sure that was downhill with a tailwind!

My mazdaspeed 3 I've gotten up to 120, that was effortless though and could have gone a lot faster.

The FB? Maybe 95.
