130 indicated in a mk3 golf 2.0 with a ton of work. is the fastest I have ever pushed one of my own cars and believed what the speedo said. ran out of gear/aero. and would not even creep any higher.

my mk1 golf/rabbit speddo ended at 80 and there was a pin, but I do know I passed my girlfriend who said her car said 110, like she was standing still. again highly worked motor and modified trans with a tall TDI 5 gear. would have kept going, but anything over 75 in that car is a death sentience if any thing goes wrong and I was already sweating bullets. so I let off.

BUT the fastest I have gone in a car was my buddy's Audi V8 quattro, first so you know the v8 quattro motor was a alum v8 that used two mk2 golf 16v banger heads, so it likes to rev and his was chiped and some other stuff. we were cruising to a VW show down south with some other tuned cars, and they would all zip off, and leave us behind, so my buddy dropped the hammer, funny thing is the car is slow to about 100, but the thing hauls from 100 to about 140 like no other car I have ever been in..... but it doesn't stop at 140, he had the thing at 160 indicated, before we caught back up to the group and passed them all. latter I asked how fast they were going when we passed and one guy said they were going 100. it was definitely a day I wont ever forget.

160 indicated in a huge four door audi.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audi_V8

he was planing on twin turbocharging it but it was stolen, crashed and lit on fire.

140 + MPH. That is a high as the speedo went but it was very unstable at that speed , too much air underneath it always wanted to drift to the left , Kinda takes the fun out of it.

After i put the idler arm bushings in I'll give it another go, most of the vibrations came from that side. While I'm under there I'll give her a checkup and tighten everything.

I'd really just be pleased if it broke 100 nice and smooth.

110 mph in an 82 gs stock. I wouldn't dare try going any faster around here. Nowhere safe enough to do it.

I've got a 1982 Suzuki GS 1150 ES that I've had up over 160 mph. I only know this because my buddy was on his Haybusa next to me. It was too fast even for a flat straight road.

175 in my FD 1 time never again the steering is so sensitive at that speed i was actually scared to take my hand off the wheel to shift into 5th

155 on my 02 R6 had quite a bit more left in her but with limited riding gear that was already way to fast.

150 in my old 94 vet that i sold to buy my FD

160 way back in the day on my old 89 gsxr 750 slingshot in shorts when i had no sense

120 in the FB. idler arm fixed most of the issue but my doors vibrate at high speeds like they don't seal tight. which was part of that vibration i was feeling.
