COOL! Love it. How did you get the new bushings in? Curious because I have to do the same thing...

Are you getting energy suspension bushings? If you are make sure to get them really cleaned out of those holes then stick the thin middle bushing in to it then put one end bushing at a time Just make sure you have the, middle one as straight as possible or one end will stick out all funny then just put, the, metal tube through all 3 if it doesn't go right through them take a small hammer and just tap it the rest of the way.

Wish I could have done step by step, picture but can't be seen using my phone on camera at work.

Hope this helps you bud

Still cleaning.

I've come to the conclusion that the definition of "Show Preparation" should be "the process of transferring as much dirt and oil as possible from a car, to a person."

Skunging out wheel wells is not joyful.

Installed the banzai racing double sheave pulley and belts today, no more squealing woohoo.
Stopped by the junkyard and picked up some parts off of a couple random cars, I will being making my own alternator adjusting tensioner for the 7, along with a gas shock to raise my hood.

Finally got motivated and upgraded my wheels from 13" to 16"! Have a couple different adapters that have been sitting on the workbench for almost a year. The 4x110 to 5x114 were bought from Motorsport-tech.com. Excellent build quality and mounting hardware. They're going to be used when I scrape together enough cash for a set of Volks Racing 16s. I went with the 4x114 adapter since I had rims readily available. The rims are a weird brand called Concept Seven and they're a +30 offset., tires are Champiro 195/50s. Great fitment with tons of clearance from the struts and springs. Might go a bit wider in the rear, probably 205 or 215... Need to install the lowering springs and reduce that wheel well space now.

Rims were bought used. Previous owner did a terrible Plastidip job on them. Spent some quality time sanding them down and repainted them (spray can) in matte black. Will post a couple pics of the final outcome later

I drove across three states to pick up a really primo stock SA exhaust for the current restoration I am working on. Never thought I would see one of these in such good shape. It is complete, almost rust free and even has the original oem muffler!!

Major Score!!

Aaaand the bad news...

For those of you who don't know exactly what the bad news is, in that cavity there should be a spring loaded thermal pellet that provides oil pressure to the rotors via the e-shaft. That's about all I know, I'll see if I can bait someone else into answering the question in detail:

What exactly does the thermal pellet do? And, why is it so bad that I didn't have one installed?

Ouch, any ideas as to the cause? When I first got my 7 it had a standard clutch with the same failure.

if you are getting energy suspension, then it's pretty strait forward, you dont need a press just make sure you use plenty of lube

I'm tipping too much horsepower, combined with a violent gear shift here and there. It's behind a 12a with a T04z bolted to it, being run through a TII gearbox. It has a considerable amount of horsepower.

Swapped out some Hawk HP+ front brake pads for some quieter, less dusty Centric
Ceramics from rockauto.com. Much better now. I knew the Hawks might be a bit noisy but
jeezus, it was unreal. I'll save em for a track day.

I also have the RB slotted rotors, has anyone noticed extra brake noise using these? The new
pads are much quieter but still squeak a bit on light application (like rolling to a stop). I'm
wondering if the slots may cause this behavior?

I purchased some HPS this winter and was going to install them when I get the car out for the summer. I do about 10-12 autocross events each year and thought they would help. I also drive it about 7000 km in the summer. Maybe I will hold off till later in the year.

lol, glad it's not just me! I love the Hawks cos they cling on like a tramp to a bottle of red label, but man! they whinge like a ginger stepchild. And the dust...

Grim.

As to what I'm bin doin... carbon fibre battery box. Snow White decals involved. Oddly. That's the downside of letting your li'l daughter "help" in the garage

So bypass it instead. Reconnect your ignition key switch "START" wire to your starter solenoid with a new 10 or 8 gauge wire.

The HAWK HPS pads are not the HP+. I have HPS pads in my 85 GSL and they are dead quiet and almost no dust. Certainly better than the OEM pads in all respects. At least this is true on stock rotors.

I see that Hawk has changed the HPS pads starting in Jan 2015 to the HPB compound which is higher friction but is supposed to have all the same characteristics of the older HPS pad. I have the older pad compound in my car.
