SW Mich Autocross/Meet Event June 27th
This is one of the best events of the year, hands down. This venue provides a very long, very fast autocross course that is a blast to drive.
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...postid=2385473
If anyone in the area has ever toyed with the idea of getting into this sport, either sign up to race or at least come by and watch/take rides/hang out. Cost is $20.00 and they have loaner helmets available for use.
If you don't know what autocross is, just follow the link to videos in my signature.
We already have several forum members signed up, including a couple of Canadians (just to show that we don't discriminate against that sort). As of right now, we've got 7 rotaries signed up out of 44 entries, which works out to 17% of the field.
If you are coming from out of town, I'm offering camping in my park-like backyard Friday and Saturday nights. We usually have a bonfire and BBQ for these events, and we always have a great time. Just shoot me a PM letting me know which night(s) you will be staying so I can prepare.
This event always "sells out", so if you think you can make it, sign up today! We are already over half full, so don't procrastinate. You pay for the event when you show up on race day.
If anyone has any questions, feel free to hit me up.

You made the thread! Alright! If I want to come and hang out, with the possibility of doing some co-pilot duties should I sign up? What is my cost? The backyard camping sounds like my kind of setup. I've got a nice tent in the basement that's been begging to get used.

The cost for co-driving is the same as if you entered your own car, plus maybe a couple bucks for gas. Absolutely sign up, but I guess enter the info of one of our cars, I'm really not sure on that one. Kentetsu chime in here---->+

Go ahead and sign up, using the information for whatever car you think you will be bringing. Then, once you arrive, you can make any needed changes (race what you brung, drive one of ours, or simply ride along as a passenger while we race). Cost will be $20.00, but you only pay if/when you show up. That will give you the most options.
However, if you are absolutely positive that you will not want to compete, then there is no need to sign up for the event. You will simply sign a waiver and be free to ride along with any or all of us. But I would highly encourage you to take part in the event, you will certainly want to once you go for a ride anyway. And the cost of 20 bucks will give you that option.
Looking forward to cracking a cold one over a nice campfire.

Wow, nobody noticed that I posted the wrong link?
Here is one that will make a little more sense, and is actually the link to information and registration for this event rather than a thread about bringing your 7 back to life after storage. lol.

Okay, here's how its shaping up so far for entries:
1. Kentetsu
2. dj55b
3. Orion84GSL
4. Perfect_circle
5. Hecubus84
6. Whitey85mtu
7. An 88 red Vert I'm not familiar with
8. Same car as above, with a second driver
9. My buddy Mark Strehlow with his RX3 (badass car!)
10. A black 93 I'm not familiar with
11. A red '90 I don't know
That means that so far, out of 53 entries, rotaries are making up 21% of the field!!!

My girlfriend and I are in the "unknown" red '88 vert signed up for the event, and I'd guess that the unknown red '90 is a guy i've met at a few other auto-x'es, very friendly guy!
I hope i'll be able to make it out in my 'vert; I need to pull the turbo to see about an oil leak around the oil return, and hopefully install a EGT sensor in the process. This weekend I won't have an opportunity to work on it though, so hopefully over the next week and friday/saturday, i can get this done, as well as the work on my gf's car

Cool, I remember you from previous events. Good luck with the maintenance, looking forward to seeing you (and your car) again.
And if you want to come over Saturday night and hang with us, crash at my place, just shoot me a PM for the addy.

Ken.... you might really really hate me ... but I might have to back out of this. ... My car has been immobilized once again !!! Bent the 2 damn lower control arms AGAIN!. Don't even want to talk about it, but it was my fault this time. So if I don't have it fixed in time, I won't be able to come down.

Throw Chris's control arms on your car, then we'll slap on the adjustables I've got while you're over here.
I think I've got a couple extra stock arms laying around too if you have any need for them, but is sounds like you need something a bit stronger. The adjustables look like they were built for a Hummer, so I'd be surprised if you broke those...

Oh dont challenge me on the damage I'll see what I can do, I kinda cracked my cross member also, and my radiator, and car frame is a bit bent, cracked the clevis for the rear lower control arms, top sway bar heim joint, and bent the back side if a rim, yes my bling rims, so it might be a while.
